He was predeceased by: his parents, William D Batteas (W. D.) and Oneta Duncan Batteas; his daughter Kimberly Dawn Kelley; his grandsons, Brent Batteas, Austin Lee and Azar Kelley; and his siblings, J. D. Batteas, Lester Batteas, Viola "Boby" Fudge, Elizabeth and Simmons.

He is survived by: his wife Gail Batteas; his children, Mike Batteas (Rebecca) of Eastland, Randy Batteas (Renee) of Eastland, Terry Renfro (Billy) of Azle and Melissa Van Til (John) of Southlake; his sisters, Donnie Cozby of Abilene and Alene Ebling of Plainview; and his pet Tanner. He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
