He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Benjamin and Annie Viola Payne (Lisenbee); and his brothers, Garland and Ronnie. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Lee Rogers; his children, Joy Lynette Brown, David Payne, Cheryl Lindsay of Midland and Karen Self of Cisco; his brothers, Wesley Payne (Shirley) of Cisco and Lonnie Payne of Cisco; and his foster son Ricky Melton of Arkansas.
