Charles Lee Jessup Obituary
Charles Lee Jessup of Cisco passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the age of 85.
Charlie was born November 28, 1938 in Cisco to Cecil and Addie Catherine Tarver Jessup. He served in the National Guard, and worked many years in the oilfield, a welder, and finally in county maintenance for Eastland County. Charlie married Norma Jean Walker November 27, 1957 in Cisco. He was very dedicated to Jean, even after she preceded him in death in 2015.
Charlie's favorite pastime was telling stories of the oilfield and old times with friends and family sitting at the dining room table. He was interested in old coins, rocks and gardening. He was a very easy going, likeable man, who loved his God, country and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Addie Jessup; wife Jean Jessup; grandson Garrett Cook; and brother Larry Jessup.
Survivors include daughter Tammi Vaughn and husband Randy; son Butch Jessup and wife Kelly; daughter Joyce Smith; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Sandy Jackson and brothers Claude and Buddy Jessup.
Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Kimbrough-Jacobs Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Kimbrough-Jacobs Chapel, with Howard Stovall officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
