He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollie Roy Beard and Dorothy James Beard. He is survived by: his wife Connie S. Lange Beard; his sons, James Beard, Jr. (Anita) of Elizabeth City and Cornell Beard (Tina) of Troup, Texas; his stepsons, Russell Lange (Terri) of Sugarland and Randal Lange (Joyce) of Silsbee; and his siblings, Patricia Wood (Harold) of Paducah, Martha Eicholz (Jerry) of Paducah and Jerry Beard (Judy) of Folsomdale, Kentucky.. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
