He was predeceased by: his parents, Hassie Elizabeth Blanton (Pack) and James Blanton; his siblings, Earl Blanton, Ray Blanton, Ruth Blanton, Opal Christian, Wilma McCutchen and Mildred Bayes; his sons, Stephen Blanton and Roger Thomison; and his great great grandchild Grayson Matus.
He is survived by: his wife Margarette Penny Blanton; his children, Marshall Blanton (Debbie) of Elm Mott, Bradley Blanton (Mary) of Del Valle, Sandra (Larry Matus) of West, Donna (Victor Morgan) of West, Judy (Richard Taylor) of McGregor and Margaret (John Burns) of China Spring; and his sisters, Verna Arp and Dixie Wallace. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
