He is survived by: his wife Mariana Gomez; his children, Luis Bernal, Tony Bernal (Martha), Adam Bernal (Pia), Mary James (Mark), Gracie Lewis (Rick) and Lupe Turvaville (Marcus); and his siblings, Mary Elida Bernal and Jose Bernal. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren.
