He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilhelm Best and Louise Best (Spies); his wife Ilse Best; and his children, Werner Dean Best and Jutta Seal.
He is survived by: his grandson Colby Seal (Sage); his great grandchild Cord Seal of Childress; his siblings-in-law, Franz Fleckenstein of Baton Rouge, LA, Fritz Fleckenstein of Germany, Klaus Fleckenstein of Germany and Maria Regenfuss of Germany; and his half-sisters, Edith Benz of Germany and Christa Sack of Germany. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
