He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Bob Ellis and Margaret Lemley Ellis; and his former wife Nelta Redwine Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Connie Yvonne Ellis of Childress; his daughters, Karlene Barber (Neil) of Childress, Sherri Barton (Jerry) of Quail and Candy Powell (Jeff) of Wellington; and his grandchildren, Brittainy Barber, Matthew of Panhandle, Brian Barton of Wellington, Misty Youngberg of Samnorwood, Mason Smith (Roxanne) of Dodson, Keedon Smith (Makenzie) of Wellington, Brecklyn Powell of Wellington, Neely Sweedon (Erick) of Frisco, Heather Williams (Brad) of Childress and Jamie Deerinwater (Caleb) of The Woodlands. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.

“Kenneth was a blessing to our family. He watched over our ranch like it was his own. I asked him several years ago if he had any plans to retire and if we should maybe start looking for a replacement. Kenneth said "No. Someday you'll find me out here among these mesquite trees and I'll have died doing what I love to do." And that's the way he went out. He was a one-of-a-kind and we're lucky to have known him. David Folks”
