It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jerry Smoot (Childress, Texas), born in Plainview, Texas, who passed away on September 4, 2019, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Smoot and Juanita Smoot; his sister Sandra Harrod; and his granddaughter Elizabeth Kelley. He is survived by: his former wife Faye Christine Shugart; his wife Christine Smoot of Childress; his children, Tamara Cottom (Bryan) of Dickinson, ND and Jason Smoot (Jennifer) of Childress; and his grandchildren, Claire Zinser of Dickinson, ND, Timothy, Andrew, Joshua Kelley of Childress, Gabe, Abel Marquez of Amarillo, Brad and Brandon Cottom of Sayre, OK. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
