He was predeceased by: his siblings, J. L. Hatcher and Ann Hatcher; and his grandson Joel Layton. He is survived by: his former wife Lorene Skidmore; his wife Lorene "Rene" Hatcher of Childress; his sons, Ronald Hatcher (Sondra) of Childress and Donald Hatcher (Laura) of Brownwood, TX; his siblings, Wanda Beattie of Olean, NY and Charles Hatcher of Tulia, TX; his grandchildren, Chris Hatcher, Lindsey Freeze, Nicholas Hatcher, Andrew Hatcher, James Brocksch, Jr., Dalton Layton, Leigh Ann Layton and Blayne Layton; and his great grandchildren, Jackson Hatcher, Maci Hatcher, Mattie Freeze, Mary Hatcher and Zayne Portilla. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
