Alford (Charlotte, Texas), born in Westminster, South Carolina, who passed away on July 9, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, George Allen and Victoria; her husband Chester A. Alford; her daughter Dannette Alford; and her siblings, Prince Childers, Henry Childers, William Childers, John Childers, Mattye Launa Childers Thompson, Ellen Naomi Childers and Mamie Esther Childers Sims.

She is survived by: her children, Chester (Margaret), Brenda Vanley (Lawrence) and Avis V. May (Kelvin) of Kansas City, MO; her brother Clifton Bryant Childers (Olive) of Silver Spring, MD; and her friends, Eula Mallard, Helen James, Rosalind Winfree, Lelo Hill, Savannah Tubbs and Barbara Byrd. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.
