He was predeceased by: his father Hector Melendez, Sr.; his son Hector Anthony Melendez; and his brothers, Francisco Melendez, Sr. and Jorge Alberto Melendez. He is survived by: his mother Petra Melendez (Resendiz); his wife Modesta Melendez (Morones); his stepchildren, Adolfo Morones, Florentino Segundo, Valentin Segundo, Jr., Vicente Segundo, Sr., Gerardo Segundo, Sr., Anna Barba, Gracie Garcia and Simona Rubalcava; and his siblings, Hector Melendez, Jr., Alfonso Melendez, Juan Melendez, Felix Melendez, Pedro Alvarez, Sr. and Teresa Melendez. He is also survived by 37 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
