It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Elmer Owens (Charlotte, Texas), born in Grapeland, Texas, who passed away on July 4, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Charlotte Jean Owens; his parents, John R. Owens and Lillian Owens; and his brother John Owens (Jodie). He is survived by: his children, Julie Alston (Todd) of Lufkin, John (Felipe Medrado) of Houston and Brian Owens (Julie) of Mansfield; his grandchildren, Ben Owens (Winnie) of Hong Kong, Stephen Alston (Jacklyn), Meghan Owens, Elise Alston, Karli Owens and Bayli Owens; his great grandchildren, Naomi Lauren and Charlotte Marie; his sisters, Anita Mitchell (Don) and Margie Hazelip (Bill); and his sister-in-law Roberta Svien.
