He was predeceased by: his son Randy Zapata. He is survived by: his wife Benita Zapata of Channing; his children, Angie Zapata (Pedro Rodriguez) of Amarillo, Rachel Osborn (Jonathan) of Channing, Rebecca Zapata (George Garcia) and Troy Valdez (Keitha) of Dalhart; and his sister Lupe Guajardo of Dumas. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
