He was predeceased by: his parents, Lamar Edward Wood and Frances Lorring Lofton Wood; his brothers, Charles Franklin Wood and Glen Alan Wood; and his niece Terry Wood.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Sue McManners Wood; his sons, Johnny Edward Wood Jr. and James Allan Wood; his sister Belinda DiStefano; his siblings-in-law, Marsha Wood, Joy Madero, Joe DiStefano, Raul Madero and Larry McManners; his nieces and nephews, Melissa Wood (Missy), Juanita Castle (Jenny), Martha Espinoza, Sierra DiStefano, Charles F. Wood (Bubba), John Espinoza and Richard Espinoza Jr.; and his friend Robert Ewell (Bobby).
