He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Earl Hastings and Ida Lou Hastings-Tinsley (Allen); his wife Mary Hastings; and his brothers, Leroy Hastings and Wayne Hastings.
He is survived by: his children, Tamara Grinrod (John) of Chandler, Thomas Sigler of Chandler, Michelle Reece (Russell) of Chandler and Kim Blackmon (Billy) of Larue; and his brother Johnny Hastings (Jody Murphy-Hastings) of Silver City. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
