He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Brandt Griffin and Marjorie Ruth Griffin (Cain); and his brothers, Keith Griffin and Douglas Griffin. He is survived by: his son Gene Patterson (Kandi) of Tyler; his stepdaughter Carolyn Albright (Michael) of Winston Salem; his sister Gloria Kelley (Tim) of Castroville; his grandchildren, Alexander Patterson, Sebastian Patterson, Francesca Patterson, Pierce Patterson, Sophia Patterson, Griffin Albright, Charlotte Albright and Lane Albright; his niece Lindsay Griffin; and his nephew Grayson Griffin.
