He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cleburne Cantrell and Lillian Albert Pierce; his sister Anita Hicks; and his stepsons, Jackie Shaefer and Shane Shaefer.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Cantrell; his children, Jody Cantrell (Darlene), Mitchell Cantrell and Debra Irwin (Lloyd); his stepson Trey Schaefer; his brother Harold Cantrell; and his grandchildren, Brad Cantrell, Timothy Cantrell, Daniel Garcia and Jackie Schaefer. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
