He was predeceased by: his fathers, Joseph Murphrey, Sr. and Shirley Pounds; his son James Daniel Murphrey; his granddaughter Ashtion Murphrey; and his sisters, Cynthia Willis, Arlene Chandler and Betty Aills.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Murphrey of Centerville; his children, Cheri Knoblauch of Houston and Garrett Murphrey of Conroe; his grandchildren, Reagann, Charleigh, Rory, Tristan, Ashley, Gunner, Chasity, Skye, Hope, Faith, Trinity and Shannon; and his siblings, Patsy Willis (Johnny) of Centerville, Jerry Murphrey of Ace and John Thomas McVey, Jr. of Livingston. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
