He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Hamilton, Sr. and Ola Simmons Hamilton; his wife Lurlene Hamilton; his daughter Arenda Hamilton; and his siblings, James Roy Hamilton, Robert Hamilton and Doris Leftridge.

He is survived by: his children, Simon Hamilton III of Houston, Tiffany Hamilton Nash (Dion) of San Augustine, Sonya Beck (Billy) of The Woodlands and Hope Hamilton of Lufkin; and his grandchildren, Noelle, Bianca, Desirae, Andrew and Liam.
