He was predeceased by: his parents, Alger Harold Armstrong and Bertha Madolyn Turner; his wife Frances Armstrong; and his brother Don Armstrong. He is survived by: his sons, Steve Armstrong (Renee), Mike Armstrong (Suetta) and Kelly Armstrong (Maureen); his sisters, Kay Nichols and Janie King; his grandchildren, Brad Armstrong, Stacy Burns, Wes, Wendi Armstrong, Toby, Erica Armstrong, Alan, Candice Armstrong, Carrie, Brad Hammons, Rebekah Armstrong, Rachel Armstrong, Anna Armstrong, Audrey and Eric Chance; and his sisters-in-law, Lynn McMichael and Sue Ellen McMichael. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Celeste or Texas Baptist Men.
