He was predeceased by: his father Jimmy Lloyd Moates; his brother Mark Moates; and his stepfather Robert Mills. He is survived by: his mother Shirley Lorraine Simmons of Childress; his wife Nelda Moates of Celeste; his daughters, Tina Cain (Brady) of Ponca City, Tara Jones (Layne) of Piedmont, Latishia Hamro (Chris) of Quinlan and Marissa Moates of Willis Point; his sisters, Cindy Rufenacht (Dale) of Amarillo and Susan Spring (Robert) of Orange; his stepsiblings, Ricky Mills, Janis Mills and Karen Maddox; his grandchildren, Ally, Avery Markstahler, Bella Cain, Blake Johnston, Marlee Jones, Lilliauanne Reschke, Ayzlee Hamro, Hendrixx Hamro, Hope Powers, Braxton Moates and Ruby Bateman; his nieces and nephews, Tyler Rufenacht, Nick Compton, Jaime Rohrer, Misti Crawford and Kandace Tiner; and his close friend Jack.
