He was predeceased by: his mother Nettie Olive Morgan Waltrip of Charleston; his former wife Helen; his father Charles Waltrip; his stepson Jack David Hughes; and his grandson Kelly Pinkerton.
He is survived by: his friend Fred; his wife Doris; his stepchildren, Linda Pinkerton (Jerry) and Don Hughes (Stephanie); and his daughter-in-law Laura Hughes. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
