He was predeceased by : his father Jesus Perales; his wife Gloria Perales; and his brothers, Domingo Perales, Sr., Isaac "Billy" Perales, Sr., Benito Jimenez and Eliseo "Taco" Jimenez.

He is survived by : his children, Velma Perales Mascorro of Castroville, Sylvia Perales Hopkins of Castroville, Mike A. Perales of Castroville, Eugene Perales of Castroville, Cynthia Perales McCulley (Art) of Castroville, Isabel Perales-DeHoyos of Castroville and Erika Perales of Castroville; his grandchildren, Manda Gonzales (Tony), Treasa Kennedy, Michelle Mascorro, Christopher Hopkins of Miguel Hopkins, A. J, D. J. McCulley and Brandon DeHoyos; and his siblings, Valentina Zepeda Hanson of St. Paul, MN, Maria Zurita of San Antonio and Norberto "Chon" Perales of San Antonio. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
