She was predeceased by: her parents, John Allen Sparks and Cora Minnie Kuykendall Sparks; her husband Sam Reed Lumsden; her grandsons, Gregory Thomas Whittle and Dillon Reed Ritter; her siblings, Royce Sparks, John T. Sparks and Joyce Sparks Burdett; her half-sisters, Thelma Sparks Hamilton, Gladys Sparks Shackelford and Leona Sparks Kuykendall; and her siblings-in-law, James "Jimmy" Hicks, Larry Allen and Betty Sparks.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rebecca Whittle (Edward) of Temple and Sammye Joanna Ritter (Robin) of Leander; her grandchildren, Brandon Whittle (Lisa), Ryan Whittle (Christine), Aaron Whittle (Jennifer), John Whittle (Angeline) and Jordan Ritter; her great grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, Claire, Maggie, Victoria, Andrew and Emma; her siblings, Patsy Sparks Hicks of Corpus Christi, Faye Sparks Allen of Cline and George Sparks (Gayle) of Cline; her brother-in-law Albert Burdett; and her stepchildren, Glenda Hammer, Nelda Bradshaw and Ronald Lumsden. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Memorials may be made in Jo's memory to the Medina Valley United Methodist Church in Castroville, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (http://www.afsp.org) or the charity of your choice.
