He is survived by: his wife Rachel Alvarez of Castroville; his children, Danielle Bombek (Mike) of Castroville, Joseph De La Cruz of San Antonio, Jean Michael Alvarez of San Antonio and Vincent De La Cruz of Sanger; his grandchildren, Melakye Alvarez, Isaiah Alvarez, Jean Michael Alvarez, Jr., Samuel Alvarez, Elias Bombek, Aniela Bombek, Marietta Bombek and Jude De La Cruz; and his siblings, Odilia, Juana, Nereyda, Eleazar, Armando and Ruben. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
