He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugenia Salazar and Tiofilo Salazar; his wife Maria Elida Campos Salazar; and his brothers, Candelario, Frank, Manuel, Carlos and Lupe Salazar.
He is survived by: his children, Orlando Salazar (Lisa), Gilbert Salazar (Christina), Richard Salazar (Lydia), Alma Salazar and Anna Lisa Zepeda (Orlan); and his stepsiblings, Anna Gracia, Ismael Trevino and Roy Ontiveras. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
