It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wyman Akin (Carthage, Texas), born in Littlefield, Texas, who passed away on August 14, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brothers, N. L. and Steve Akin. He is survived by: his children, Monte Akin (Dianne Cantrell) of Carthage, Betsy Brinkley (John) of Carthage and Marte Akin of Dallas; his grandchildren, Nolan, Brandy Akin, Brant Akin, Tony, Nicole Akin, Matt Akin, Dr. Joey Brinkley, Wendy and Brandon Warner; and his siblings, Jewel Wayne Long (Suzie) of Longview, Mona Reeves of Longview, Jodie Smelley of Longview and Linda Sue McConnell (Mac) of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
