It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Melba Smith (Carthage, Texas), who passed away on April 15, 2018, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her siblings, Dorothy Taylor (John), Mary Lee Killen (George) and Howard L. Lovell. She is survived by: her spouse Frank Edward Smith; her sons, Frank H. Smith (Patsy) of Salida and Michael E. "Smokey" Smith (Judy) of Carthage; her grandchildren, Chris C. Smith (Miranda), Haley Smith, Alex Perez, Rebecca Smith Childs and Jeff Smith; and her great grandchildren, Madison, Brianna, Ryan, Ali, Hannah, John Michael and Hayden. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
