She was predeceased by: her parents, Effie Eugunia Hattaway and James Lynard Lawhorn; her spouse Cecil Chestley Dyson; her son Shannon Dyson; her grandson Matthew Gage Rainwater; her daughters, Carol Walker and Jeanette Ray; and her siblings, Edward Lawhorn and Lula Nell Ivey.
She is survived by: her children, George Lynard Dyson and Machelle Sherwood (Jimmy); her sons-in-law, Arnold Walker and Marvin Ray; her sister-in-law Alice Williams; her grandchildren, Jena Wilkerson, Albert Ray, Casey Ray, Aaron Walker, Kelley Walker, Amber Dyson, Ashley Porter, Destiney Hammond, Chelsie Sherwood, Sheldon Sherwood, Cheyenne Sherwood and Angel Ganz; her great grandchildren, Jaxon, Waylon, Hunter, Abby, Maddi, Savannah, Madison, Allison, Layton, Gatlyn, Slayton, Keeston, Ashton, Daxton, Bransyn and Kaitlynn; and her caregiver Sonya Brown.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hawthorn Funeral Home (307 W Wellington St, Carthage, TX 75633). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel (307 W Wellington St, Carthage, TX 75633).
