With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dixie Whitaker (Carthage, Texas), born in Taylorville, Illinois, who passed away on April 27, 2020 at the age of 101. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ritchie Reman and Mary Louise Scott Simpson; and her siblings, Andy Simpson and Caroline Rogers. She is survived by: her children, Melinda Whitaker Martin of Carthage, Jennifer Whitaker Chandler of Carthage, Deborah Whitaker Key (John) of Mansfield and Mark Whitaker (Cristal) of Longview; her sister Elanore Boone of Carthage; her grandchildren, Brett Matthew (Christy Chandler), Brandy Chandler (Rodney Socia), David (Pattima Martin), Tracey Slocum, Jeff (Lindsey Key) and Neil Whitaker; her great grandchildren, Sarah Kathryn Walker, Elizabeth Walker, Cameron Martin, Erin, Darren Slocum, Clark Neuman, Chloe Neuman, Blake, Chance and Sophie Socia; and her great great grandchildren, Jayden Slocum, Abby Key and Kylie Key.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Heartsway Hospice for their excellent care.
