He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Edward Pierce Sr. and Jescena Pearl Stevens Pierce; his daughter Sheila Gherardini; and his sisters, Patricia, Teresa and Elaine.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Pierce; his children, Vivian Taylor, Daniel Edward Pierce III and James Autry Wayne Pierce; his siblings, Annette Dudley, Michael, Paul and Steve Pierce; his grandchildren, Philip Gherardini, Jennifer Brittenham, James Pierce III, Tiffany Stapleton, Daniel Edward Pierce IV and Emily Pierce; his great grandchildren, Agnes Southard, James Pierce IV, Cheyanne Pierce, Emma Stapleton and Maverick Stapleton; and his grandchild Emory.
