He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack James and Mandy Elizabeth Cauthen James; his brother Jewel Dale James (Carolyn Langford James); and his brothers-in-law, David Cockrell and Cliff Lawhorn.
He is survived by: his sisters, Bobbie Cockrell of Bay City and Tona Lawhorn of Carthage. He is also survived by numerous nephews; one great-nephew; and a host of friends.
