He is survived by: his wife Joye; his sons, David (Caroline) of Kingwood and Stephen of Austin; his grandchildren, Patrick Gilroy, Courtney Chamness, Matthew Chamness, Stephen Chamness of Kingwood, Cristopher Chamness and Yvonne Chamness of Austin; and his brothers, James (Joyce) of Lufkin, Dennis Chamness of Carthage and Clyde Chamness of Carthage. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as several great nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to First United Methodist Church, Rehobeth United Methodist Church, or the Central Conference Pension Initiative of the General Board of Pensions and Health Benefits.
