Betty (Drewery) J. Crump Obituary
Beloved mother, grandmother, Aunt, and Crump family matriarch Betty Joyce Crump passed peacefully at the age of 89 in Carthage, Texas on July 19, 2021. Betty was born in the quiet pastoral town of Bobo, Texas on January 24, 1932.
Betty was cosmopolitan woman. She could go from fishing and camping to a night on the town with friends and family and brought joy in every encounter. Betty was a talented storyteller and loved spending time with friends and family. Betty Crump loved to entertain, and her hospitality knew no bounds. If you had the honor to supe with Betty Joyce Crump, one would understand why she was the best cook in Texas.
Betty had many talents, including her business savvy. Betty brought joy to many young women with her successful dress stores in Southeast and East Texas.
Betty Joyce Crump loved Jehovah her creator, and thus proved that selfless love by dedicating herself in Baptism in the summer of 1944 during a tumultuous time in the world. Betty would go on to marry her soulmate the late FM Crump on February 18, 1950. This union would lead to a large loving family that will carry on the Crump legacy.
Betty is survived by her five children: Sheena Kay Vines, Lois Brenda Martin, Phillip Baron Crump, Forrest Mitchell Crump, and Mandy Desire Willeford (in respective order).
She is further survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren (in respective order):
Grandchildren from her daughter Sheena Kay Vines: Tony Vines, Cammie Polhemus and her two sons Ethan and Cameron Polhemus (great grandchildren), Chase Vines, Priscilla and Craig Borsche and China and Jason Daly.
Grandchildren from her daughter Lois Brend Martin: Michelle Martin and Michael Martin.
Grandchildren from her son Phillip Barton Crump: Haleigh and John Villagomez and great-grandchildren Jovi, Kiera, Solie, and Valan Villagomez; Seth and Amber Crump and great-grandson Thorin Crump; Peyton and Greg Sattler and great-grandchildren Beau, Connor, and Finn Sattler.
Grandchildren from her son Forrest Mitchell Crump: Forrest and Kristin Crump and great-grandchildren Kathryn and Conner Crump; Shane and Tabitha Crump and great-grandchildren Alyssa, Karyssa, Paizley and Shane Jr. Crump.
Grandchildren from her daughter Mandy Desire Willeford: Travis Willeford and Jon Forrest and Aurianna Willeford.
