She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester McDermitt and Ettie McDermitt; her siblings, Billie Rae McDermitt, Ken McDermitt, Audrey Shottenkirk and Janie Walker; and her son Jay Lassiter.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl Brymer and Glen Welch; and her son-in-law David Brymer. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
