He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Springer and Mary Springer; his parents-in-law, James and Glenna Freeman; and his brother-in-law Larry Chrisman.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Springer; his son Robert "Eric"; his aunt Mabel Hazelwood (James Doolittle); his sister Diane; his niece Julie Jones; his nephew Nathan Jones; his sister-in-law Nancy Chrisman; his nephews, Jason, Christopher and Damon Chrisman; and his brother-in-law James Freeman, Jr..

Memorials are requested to Hospice Brazos Valley, 1048 N. Jefferson, St., La Grange, TX 78945.
