He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Hunter Ricks; his son Jason James Ricks (Nicole); his grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Kelton and Kiegan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; his daughter Kristin Kamille Ross (Dan); his grandchildren, Margot and Charlize of New Braunfels, Texas; his stepson Eric Hunter Forsyth (Maegan); his stepgrandchildren, Reilly and Sean of Houston, Texas; his stepdaughter Desi Forsyth Hutcherson (Joshua); and his stepgrandsons, Daniel and Nicholas of Canyon, Texas..

Visitation was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brooks Chapel (1702 5th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Childress Cemetery.
