He is survived by: his children, John Wayne Messer (Sheri Messer), Roy Henry "Hank" Messer (Maggie Messer) and Victoria Rose Messer (Jeffry Whitehead); his wife MaryBeth Gottschlich; his son Jim Bob (Amy Messer); and his grandchildren, John William "Willie", Jameson Wayne Messer, Cowan, Jacee, Monty Merrell, Palmer, Brooks Whitehead and Ella Sue Messer.
