He is survived by: his wife Ann Root of Canyon; his children, Cindy Getschow (George) of Flower Mound, Greg Root (Candy) of Amarillo, Stephanie Dawdy (Ronnie Hager) of Canyon, Tom Dawdy of Amarillo and Holly Schreur (Mike) of Canyon; his grandchildren, Brandi Crofford of Hamilton, Ginger Russ (Bart) of Flower Mound, Garrett Getschow of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Richard Root (Holly) of Boynton Beach, FL, Berry Root (Heather) of Amarillo, Alexis Ellis-Root of Amarillo and Parker Ellis-Root of Dallas; his great grandchildren, Victoria Ambriz of Dallas, Cody Crofford of Dallas, Kenny Crofford of Hamilton, Jackson, Samuel Root of Amarillo, Brooke and Kali; and his brother Harold E. Root (Wanda) of Canyon.
