She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, R. L. Smith and Evelynn Hargrave Smith; her husband Perry Howell; her son Ronny Howell; her brother Johnny Smith; her son Dennis Howell (Kryn) of Durango, Colorado; and her daughter-in-law Kim Howell of Amarillo. She was also cherished by five grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
