He was predeceased by: his mother Pearl Hughes (Strawn); and his siblings, Van Earl Hughes, Guynell Hughes and Doris Dorrough. He is survived by: his father Guy Tarver; his sons, Fred Hughes (Irene) of Amarillo and Michael Hughes (Janice) of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Braun Hughes of Manor, Robyn Massey (Cory) of Dripping Springs, Joe Hughes (Joanna) of Canyon, Amy Redus (Reed Redus) of Santa Fe, NM and Don Mark Hughes (Heather) of Canyon; his great grandchildren, Max, Elizabeth Hughes, Grant, Bo Massey, Braxton, Brant Hughes, Noah, Emmarie Redus, Mia, Hudson, Maverick, Tillie and Henry Hughes; his brother LaRue Hughes; and his sister-in-law JoAnn Street (Joe Shuping).
Visitation was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and at 4:00 PM at the Brooks Chapel (1702 5th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 18th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
The family suggests memorials be given to The Gideons International, PO Box 405, Canyon, TX 79015.
