Don Max Vars Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Don Max Vars of Canyon, Texas, born in Tulia, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 27, 2024 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Stanley and Olga Samantha Vars (McGlaun). He is survived by: his brother Jay Gerald Vars; his wife Lila Buske of Friona, Texas.; his children, Rollins, Ramsi, Morgan, Briar, Britton and Baker; and his great grandchild Don Max.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 31st 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Brooks Chapel (1702 5th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (1717 4th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015).
The family suggests that donations be made in Don Max's name to Partners in Palo Duro Canyon Foundation, 11450 Park Road 5, Canyon, TX 79015 or the Lila Vars Scholarship Fund, WTAMU Box 60765, Canyon, TX 79016.
