It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Walter Powell of Canyon Lake, Texas, born in Lafollette, Tennessee, who passed away on March 22, 2025, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Powell and Lucy Powell (Broyles); and his sisters, Rose Mary Tallent, Frankie Perkins, Sue Riggs and Margaret Peay.
He is survived by: his wife L. Joyce Lester; his children, Rebecca Powell Johnson (Douglas) of Canyon Lake, Scott L. Powell (Crystal) of Greeley, CO and Christopher R. Powell of Canyon Lake, TX; his grandchildren, Madison, Ariana, Mikala, Elijah, Ilayna, Ceanna, Austyn, Alyssa and MaKenzie; and his brother Allan Powell of Monroe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Grace Bible Church (1101 Triple Peak Dr, Canyon Lake, TX 78133). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
