He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Higgerson and Shirley Dair Higgerson (Slater); his sister Jean; his brother-in-law Delmar Gulley; his brother Bennie; his sister-in-law Melba Higgerson; and his brother Gerald.

He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Kohrman Higgerson; his son David Alan; his daughter-in-law Renee Higgerson of Dripping Springs, TX; his son Eric Lynn Higgerson of Austin, TX; his sister Linda Higgerson Rouse of Benton; his grandchildren, Kayeleigh Higgerson, David Valadez, Jake, Maigen Higgerson, Emmary Higgerson, Brady Higgerson, Karley Higgerson and Brant Higgerson; his great grandchildren, Grayson, Everly Valadez and Jameson Higgerson; his brothers-in-law, Glen Kohrman, Gene and Mickey Kohrman; his cousins, Janie, Tom Ives, Ron, Karen Rozelle and Lisa Wilson; and also, Diane, Norm Schaule, Pam, Jack Somers, Bob, Marila Middleton, Yvonne, Tom Truesdale, Debbie and Larry Sprague. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

“I first met my very dear friend, David Franklin Higgerson, in 1963. We remained dear friends until he went to Heaven. David helped me often when I lived in Houston, Texas, near him and his lovely wife Suzanne. Our eldest children, Robert, Jr. and Alan, were very near in age. My wife, Diane, and I have been blessed to have visited and been visited by David and Suzanne several times in the past few years. David will be so so missed, His wonderful family shows that he was a great Christian”
