He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Cunningham and Florence Cunningham; his siblings, Olen Cunningham, Harmon Cunningham and Lottie Murine Cunningham; and his great grandchild Hunter Dale Cunningham.

He is survived by: his wife Rosalie Cunningham of Canton; his children, Richard Allan Cunningham (Charlotte) of Aubrey and Katherine Clements of Canton; his sister Martha Sue Platter of Wills Point; his grandchildren, Andre Michelo Cunningham, Erin Rosalie Anderson and Kyle Erik Cunningham; and his great grandchildren, Nicole Custer, Robert Anderson, Kellen Anderson, Molly Anderson and Ginny Cunningham.
