He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Neil Harris and Louise Cornelia Sumner Harris; his children, Betty Lou Butler, Terry Harris, Lillie Cranfield and Robert Thompson; and his siblings, Clarence Ivan, Melvin Francis, Floyd Neil, Rebecca Jean and Zelma Vernetta.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Harris; his daughter Sondra Zito; his stepchildren, Jodie Dominick and Peggy Smith; and his siblings, Darwin Harris (Lou), Janice Sachs (Steve) and Carolyn Lynn (Tom). He is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, thirty-two great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
