He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Schafer and Lola Guffey Schafer; his brothers, Lynard and Jerry; his wife Mary Lynne; and his son Laney.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Parker (Skip) of Richardson, Sam Schafer of Lipscomb and Janae Schafer of Canadian; his granddaughter Nikki Hunter (Jason); his great grandchildren, Charlie, Jack, Edie, Georgia of Richardson and Josh Parker of Austin; his granddaughter Heather Logsdon (Josh); his great grandchildren, Ty, Lily of Plano, Tanner Schafer of Starkville and Megan Schafer of Oklahoma City; his brother Billy Schafer of Canadian; his sister-in-law Glenna Schafer of Canadian; and his cousin Carol Cole. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
