He was predeceased by: his parents, Vicente Benavides and Petra Benavides; and his siblings, Franica Soliz, Floreno Benavides, Lucinda Contreras, Eliseo Benavides, Stella Martinez, Vicenté Benavides Jr., Carmen Benavides and Santos Benavides.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Benavides (Reyes); his children, Carol Garcia (Homer) of Campbellton, Donald Benavides, Theresa Pacheco of Campbellton, Chrissy Grothues (Matt) of Pleasanton and John Benavides (Cassandra) of Buda; his sisters, Mary Flores, Gloria Benavides and Anita Guerra; and his grandchildren, Sonya, Michael, Marie, Jaclyn, Matthew, Lisa, Amanda, Jessica, John Jr., Justin, Jules and Jordan. He is also survived by great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
