He was predeceased by: his parents, George J. "Buck" and Sadie Raye Nickels (Blackmon); his sister Diane Box; and his son Timothy. He is survived by: his siblings, Larry Nickels (Gaye) of Red Oak, Nancy (Johnny Leftwich) of Cameron and Sandra Gilbert of College Station; his children, Brandi (Gerry Petree) of Granbury, Jason (Shaela Nickels) of Academy and Betheny of San Angelo; his grandchildren, Timothy, Ryan, Brooke, Tristin, Alonna, Jordan, Kelsey, Nathan and Cheyenne; and his great grandchildren, Addilyn, Aschten, Madden, Duke, Tess and Meredith. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
